Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (or plain Greek yogurt)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked until crispy and chopped
  • 1 cup romaine or iceberg lettuce, shredded
  • 1 cup cherry or grape tomatoes, diced small
  • 2 tbsp chives or green onions, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • Crackers, pretzel chips, baguette slices, or veggie sticks for serving

Instructions

  1. Place bacon slices in a cold skillet and cook over medium heat for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy. Drain on paper towels and chop into small pieces.
  2. Dice cherry or grape tomatoes into small pieces. Shred romaine lettuce. Pat both dry with paper towels to avoid excess moisture.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream (or Greek yogurt). Blend with a hand mixer or whisk until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add salt, black pepper, and garlic powder (if using). Blend again until incorporated. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  5. Spread the creamy base evenly into your serving dish and smooth the surface with a spatula.
  6. Sprinkle chopped bacon evenly over the cream layer and press gently.
  7. Scatter diced tomatoes over the bacon.
  8. Top with shredded lettuce. For best crunch, add lettuce just before serving.
  9. Sprinkle with chives or green onions and/or shredded cheddar cheese if desired.
  10. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to let flavors meld, or serve immediately.
  11. Serve with crackers, baguette slices, pretzel chips, or veggie sticks.

Notes

For best texture, add lettuce and tomatoes just before serving. Pat veggies dry to prevent sogginess. Use full-fat dairy for creamier dip. For vegetarian, swap bacon for smoked tempeh or coconut bacon. For gluten-free, serve with veggie sticks or GF crackers. Double the recipe for large gatherings.
