These Golden Crunchy Artichoke Hearts are perfectly crisp, golden bites of heaven—warm, tender on the inside, and bursting with subtle nutty flavors. Perfect for parties, snacks, or appetizers, they pair beautifully with your favorite dips.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can of artichoke hearts (whole or halved, packed in water or brine, drained)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs (beaten)
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying (e.g., canola or sunflower oil)

Instructions

  1. Drain and pat the artichoke hearts dry with a paper towel to prevent soggy breading.
  2. Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mixture of panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese (if using), garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Coat each artichoke heart in flour, then dip it in the beaten eggs, and finally roll it in the breadcrumb mixture. Press gently to ensure the coating sticks.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pan to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry the breaded artichoke hearts in batches for 2-3 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Avoid overcrowding the pan.
  6. Remove the fried artichoke hearts with tongs and place them on a wire rack lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

For a healthier option, try air frying at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through. To keep them warm for serving, place them in a 200°F (93°C) oven.
