Crispy, cinnamon-dusted apple fries made in the air fryer for a healthy, kid-friendly snack. These golden apple fries are quick to make, packed with nutrition, and perfect for dipping in yogurt or caramel.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large apples (or 4 medium, any variety, about 1.5 lbs)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch (optional)
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • Cooking spray (avocado oil or similar)
  • Optional for dipping: Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla), caramel sauce, peanut butter or almond butter

Instructions

  1. Wash and core apples. Slice into thick fries, about 1/2-inch wide. Leave skin on for extra fiber or peel for softer texture. Pat dry if apples are very juicy.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix flour, oats, cornstarch (if using), cinnamon, brown sugar, and salt until well combined.
  3. In a separate shallow bowl, beat eggs.
  4. Dip each apple fry into the egg wash, then toss in the flour-oat mixture, pressing lightly to coat. Lay coated fries on a plate. If needed, roll twice or spritz with cooking spray for better coating.
  5. Preheat air fryer to 375°F for 3 minutes. Spray basket lightly with cooking spray. Arrange coated apple fries in a single layer (work in batches if needed). Air fry for 7-9 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp.
  6. Transfer fries to a serving plate. Dust with extra cinnamon or brown sugar if desired. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For gluten-free, use almond or oat flour. For vegan, substitute eggs with flax egg. Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket for best crispiness. Apples can be prepped ahead and stored in water with lemon juice to prevent browning. For extra crunch, add chopped nuts to the coating. Serve immediately for best texture.
