Crispy and tender sweet potato fries coated with a warm cinnamon sugar glaze, made quickly and healthily in an air fryer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into ¼ inch fries
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (extra virgin recommended)
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar (regular or coconut sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Optional: pinch of nutmeg or ground ginger

Instructions

  1. Peel and cut 2 large sweet potatoes into evenly sized fries, about ¼ inch thick.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, toss the cut fries with 2 tablespoons of olive oil until lightly coated.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Arrange fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding.
  5. Air fry for 15 minutes, shaking or flipping fries halfway through cooking.
  6. While fries cook, mix 3 tablespoons granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, and ½ teaspoon salt in a small bowl.
  7. Once fries are golden and crispy, transfer them back to the mixing bowl while still hot.
  8. Immediately sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the fries and toss gently until evenly coated.
  9. Serve warm immediately for best texture and flavor.

Notes

For extra crispiness, air fry in batches rather than overcrowding the basket. Toss fries with cinnamon sugar immediately after cooking while still hot to create a perfect glaze. Avoid adding sugar before cooking to prevent burning. Reheat leftovers in the air fryer at 350°F for 3-5 minutes to restore crispiness.
