  • Dippers (choose your favorites): fresh strawberries, banana slices, marshmallows, angel food cake cubes, apple slices, pineapple chunks

Instructions

  1. Chop the chocolate roughly if using bars to help it melt evenly and quickly.
  2. Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium-low heat until steaming but not boiling.
  3. Remove the cream from heat and add the chopped chocolate and softened unsalted butter. Let sit for 2 minutes to soften the chocolate.
  4. Gently stir the mixture with a spatula or whisk until smooth and glossy. If needed, place the bowl over simmering water and stir gently until fully melted.
  5. Stir in vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  6. Pour the chocolate fondue into a warm bowl or fondue pot. Keep warm over a low heat source if desired.
  7. Prepare the dippers by rinsing and slicing fruit, cubing cake, or readying marshmallows.
