A creamy, vibrant seven layer dip that’s quick and easy to make, perfect for parties and gatherings. It features a smooth cream cheese base layered with refried beans, fresh veggies, cheese, and a kick of jalapeños.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream, full-fat
  • 1 packet (1 oz) taco seasoning mix
  • 1 can (15 oz) refried beans
  • 1 cup diced ripe tomatoes, seeded
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/2 cup chopped black olives, pitted
  • 1/2 cup fresh corn kernels (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 12 jalapeños, finely chopped, seeded
  • Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Creamy Base (5-7 minutes): In a medium bowl, soften the cream cheese with a spatula or mixer until smooth. Add sour cream and taco seasoning, then mix until fully combined and creamy. Add a splash of milk if too thick.
  2. Spread Refried Beans (2 minutes): Evenly spread the refried beans over the bottom of your serving dish using the back of a spoon or offset spatula.
  3. Layer the Creamy Mixture (3 minutes): Carefully spread the cream cheese mixture over the beans, keeping the layers distinct.
  4. Add Fresh Veggies (5 minutes): Sprinkle diced tomatoes evenly over the creamy layer, followed by chopped green onions, black olives, corn kernels if using, and jalapeños.
  5. Top with Cheese (2 minutes): Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the veggies.
  6. Chill or Serve Immediately (Optional): Cover and chill for at least 30 minutes for best flavor melding, or serve immediately.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Add fresh cilantro leaves on top just before serving. Serve with sturdy tortilla chips or vegetable sticks.

Notes

Let cream cheese soften before mixing to avoid lumps. Drain tomatoes thoroughly to prevent watery dip. Use a small offset spatula to layer neatly. Can be made up to 24 hours ahead; add cheese and garnish just before serving. For less heat, remove jalapeño seeds or omit jalapeños.
