Crispy Air Fryer Bacon

A quick and easy method to make perfectly crispy bacon using an air fryer, delivering smoky flavor and a satisfying crunch with minimal mess.

Ingredients

  • Bacon slices (thick or regular cut)
  • Optional: freshly cracked black pepper
  • Optional: brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C), about 3-5 minutes depending on your model.
  2. Arrange the bacon slices in a single layer inside the air fryer basket without overlapping.
  3. Optionally sprinkle black pepper or brown sugar evenly over the bacon slices.
  4. Cook the bacon for 8-12 minutes, flipping halfway through. Thin slices take about 8 minutes; thick slices may need up to 12 minutes.
  5. Check for doneness; bacon should be deep golden brown and crispy but not burnt. Add 1-2 more minutes if extra crispiness is desired.
  6. Use tongs to remove bacon and place on paper towels or a wire rack to drain excess fat.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to avoid steaming instead of crisping. Flip bacon halfway through cooking for even crispiness. Use tongs to avoid puncturing bacon and losing fat. Cooking times vary by thickness and air fryer model; check early the first time.
