These crispy garlic parmesan fried mushrooms are the ultimate snack or side dish, featuring a golden crust and juicy, earthy mushroom goodness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Button or Cremini Mushrooms, cleaned and trimmed
  • 1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 Eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup Panko Breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • Salt and Pepper, to taste
  • Vegetable Oil, for frying
  • Fresh Parsley, optional for garnish
  • Optional Dipping Sauces: Ranch, marinara, or garlic aioli

Instructions

  1. Clean the mushrooms with a damp paper towel to remove dirt. Trim the stems if needed.
  2. In one bowl, mix the flour with a pinch of salt and pepper. In a second bowl, beat the eggs. In a third bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and additional salt and pepper.
  3. Dip each mushroom into the flour, then the beaten eggs, and finally into the breadcrumb mixture. Ensure they’re evenly coated.
  4. Add about 1 inch of vegetable oil to your frying pan and heat it to 375°F (190°C). Test by dropping a breadcrumb into the oil—if it sizzles immediately, it’s ready.
  5. Carefully place the mushrooms into the hot oil, working in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fried mushrooms to a plate lined with paper towels.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Maintain oil temperature at 375°F (190°C) for consistent results. Fry mushrooms in small batches to avoid soggy results. Use panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch.
