These decadent brownies feature a fudgy chocolate base with a gooey Cadbury Creme Egg fondant filling, perfect for celebrations or a cozy treat. Quick and easy to make with simple pantry ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 ½ cups (300g) granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour blend for gluten-free option)
  • ¾ cup (75g) unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 810 Cadbury Creme Eggs, unwrapped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 inch (20×20 cm) baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until glossy and smooth, about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract until the mixture is thick and shiny.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  5. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a rubber spatula until just combined. The batter will be thick and fudgy.
  6. Pour half the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  7. Place the Cadbury Creme Eggs on top of the batter in a single layer, spacing them evenly and gently pressing them down slightly.
  8. Carefully spread the remaining batter over the eggs, covering them mostly without breaking.
  9. Bake for 30–35 minutes, starting to check at 30 minutes by inserting a toothpick near the edge. The edges should be set and the center slightly soft but not liquidy.
  10. Cool the brownies in the pan on a wire rack for at least 20 minutes to allow the fondant filling to firm up.
  11. Slice using a sharp knife, wiping it clean between cuts. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Do not overbake to keep brownies fudgy and moist. Chill brownies for 15 minutes before slicing to prevent fondant leakage. Use good quality cocoa powder for best flavor. For gluten-free, substitute flour with gluten-free blend. For dairy-free, use vegan butter and check for vegan fondant-filled chocolates.
