A simple yet elegant dessert featuring fresh strawberries shaped like roses and dipped in rich, silky chocolate. Perfect for special occasions or a fancy homemade treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Fresh large, firm strawberries with green tops
  • 70% dark chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate (about 8 oz)
  • White chocolate (optional, for drizzling)
  • 1 tablespoon butter or coconut oil
  • Toothpicks or skewers
  • Wax or parchment paper
  • Optional garnishes: edible gold dust, crushed nuts, sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry strawberries thoroughly to remove all moisture.
  2. Using a sharp paring knife, make thin vertical slices about 1/8 inch apart halfway up each strawberry to create rose petals, keeping slices connected near the green stem.
  3. Chop chocolate into small pieces and melt gently in a double boiler or microwave in short bursts, stirring often.
  4. Add 1 tablespoon butter or coconut oil to melted chocolate for shine and smoothness.
  5. Hold each strawberry by the stem or toothpick and dip into melted chocolate, coating all petals thoroughly.
  6. Let excess chocolate drip back into the bowl to avoid clumps.
  7. Place dipped strawberries on parchment-lined baking sheet to set at room temperature or refrigerate for faster setting.
  8. Optional: drizzle with white chocolate or sprinkle with crushed nuts or edible glitter once set.
  9. Allow decorations to set before serving.

Notes

Use room temperature strawberries to prevent chocolate from seizing. Take your time slicing petals thinly for the best rose effect. Use high-quality chocolate for best flavor. If chocolate thickens during dipping, gently warm it again. Avoid overcrowding dipped strawberries while setting to prevent smudging.
