  • 4 cups (about 120 g) tortilla chips or pita chips (plain or lightly salted)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef or turkey (lean)
  • 1/2 cup (60 g) breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Your favorite BBQ or spicy dipping sauce
  • Assorted cheeses: sharp cheddar, creamy brie, tangy blue cheese
  • Crackers (multigrain or herb-infused)
  • Fresh grapes or figs (seasonal)
  • Honey or fig jam (for drizzling)
  • Toasted nuts (almonds, pecans, or walnuts)
  • 2 cups (480 ml) fruit juice (cranberry, pomegranate, or blue raspberry)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) sparkling water or lemon-lime soda
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • Lemon or lime wedges
  • Optional: edible glitter or colored sugar for rim decoration

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dragon Scale Chips: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, toss 4 cups of tortilla or pita chips with 2 tablespoons olive oil. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon smoked paprika, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, 1/4 teaspoon chili powder, and a pinch of sea salt over the chips. Toss until evenly coated. Spread chips in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes, stirring halfway through to avoid burning. Chips should be crisp and fragrant.
  2. Make the Goblin Meatballs: In a medium bowl, combine 1 lb ground beef or turkey, 1/2 cup breadcrumbs, 1 large egg, 2 cloves minced garlic, 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Roll mixture into 1-inch balls and place on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for about 20 minutes, flipping halfway through. Meatballs should be golden brown and cooked through. Serve warm with BBQ or spicy dipping sauce.
  3. Assemble the Wizard’s Cheese Platter: Slice cheeses into bite-sized pieces or wedges. Arrange on a wooden board or platter with crackers, fresh grapes or figs, and toasted nuts. Drizzle honey or fig jam over the cheese for sweetness. Serve at room temperature.
  4. Mix the Mana Potion Drinks: In a large pitcher, combine 2 cups fruit juice with 1 cup sparkling water or lemon-lime soda. Add fresh mint leaves and lemon or lime wedges. Optionally, rim glasses with colored sugar or edible glitter before pouring the drink. Serve chilled.

Notes

Do not overmix meatball mixture to keep them tender. Brown meatballs in skillet before baking for extra crust and flavor. Watch chips closely during baking to avoid burning. Bring cheeses to room temperature before serving to enhance flavor. Fresh mint and citrus wedges brighten the mana potion drinks. Prep chips and meatballs ahead to reduce last-minute work. Variations include gluten-free chips, vegetarian meatballs, vegan cheese options, and seasonal ingredient swaps.
