This cheesy, creamy football dip is the ultimate game day party snack—quick to make, loaded with flavor, and guaranteed to please a crowd. With just five simple ingredients, it’s perfect for last-minute gatherings and always disappears fast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices cooked bacon, chopped (reserve some for topping)
  • 4 green onions, thinly sliced (reserve one for garnish)
  • Non-stick spray or parchment paper for baking dish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place softened cream cheese in a mixing bowl and let sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes, or microwave for 15 seconds if needed.
  3. Add sour cream to the cream cheese and blend until smooth and creamy using a hand mixer or sturdy spoon.
  4. Fold in shredded cheddar cheese and most of the chopped bacon, reserving some for topping.
  5. Mix in 3 of the 4 sliced green onions, saving the last one for garnish.
  6. Spread mixture evenly in a greased 8×8-inch baking dish and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until edges are bubbling and top is golden brown. For a more browned top, broil for 2-3 minutes, watching closely.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool for 5-10 minutes. Sprinkle reserved bacon and green onions on top.
  9. Serve warm with chips, crackers, or veggie sticks.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, skip the bacon or use a vegetarian substitute and add smoked paprika for flavor. Shred your own cheese for best meltiness. Double the batch for larger crowds using a 9×13-inch pan and increase baking time slightly. Make ahead by assembling and refrigerating up to 24 hours before baking. Serve with sturdy chips or veggies. If dip is too thick, stir in a splash of milk; if too thin, use less sour cream next time.
