  • 4 cups (600g) seedless watermelon, frozen into cubes
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) fresh lime juice
  • ½ cup (120ml) cold water or coconut water
  • 56 fresh mint leaves (optional)
  • ½ cup (120g) ice cubes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut a seedless watermelon into 1-inch cubes, about 4 cups (600g). Spread cubes on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight.
  2. Measure 1 tablespoon (15ml) fresh lime juice, ½ cup (120ml) cold water or coconut water, and gather optional mint leaves.
  3. Add frozen watermelon cubes to a high-speed blender. Pour in lime juice and water. Add ice cubes if a thicker texture is desired.
  4. Blend on high for 30 to 45 seconds until smooth and icy, stopping to scrape down sides if needed.
  5. Taste and adjust flavor by adding more lime juice or mint leaves and pulse again if desired. Add more water if too thick and blend briefly.
  6. Serve immediately in chilled glasses, garnished with mint or a watermelon wedge.

Notes

Freeze watermelon cubes overnight for best icy texture. Use fresh lime juice for brightness. If blender struggles, pulse in short bursts and crush ice beforehand. Store blended slushie in airtight container in freezer, stirring every 30 minutes to prevent freezing solid.
