  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice

  • ½ teaspoon honey or agave syrup
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 head butter lettuce or Bibb lettuce
  • 1 medium tomato, diced (optional)
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 small jalapeño, thinly sliced (optional)
  • 1 avocado, sliced

Instructions

  1. Prepare the lime crema: In a small bowl, combine ½ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt with 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice, 1 teaspoon lime zest, ½ teaspoon honey, and a pinch of salt. Whisk gently until smooth. Chill in the fridge while you prepare the rest.
  2. Prep your veggies: Rinse the butter lettuce gently under cold water and separate the leaves. Pat dry with paper towels or spin dry. Dice the tomato, chop cilantro, slice jalapeño if using, and slice avocado just before serving.
  3. Cook the turkey filling: Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until translucent and starting to brown, about 4-5 minutes. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
  4. Increase heat to medium-high. Add ground turkey, breaking it up with a spatula. Cook until no longer pink, about 6-8 minutes, stirring frequently.
  5. Sprinkle in chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Stir well. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 2-3 minutes to meld flavors.
  6. Assemble the wraps: Lay out lettuce leaves on a platter. Spoon turkey mixture into each leaf. Top with diced tomato, cilantro, jalapeño slices, and avocado slices.
  7. Drizzle each wrap with lime crema before serving. Optionally, add lime wedges on the side.

Notes

If turkey feels dry, add a splash of chicken broth or olive oil during cooking. Keep lettuce leaves dry to prevent sogginess. Chill lime crema for at least 10 minutes before serving. Adjust spice level by adding or omitting jalapeño and chili powder.
