A flavorful side dish combining fresh green beans, crispy bacon, and savory ranch seasoning. Perfect for family gatherings or weeknight meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, washed and trimmed
  • 68 slices thick-cut bacon, diced
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (or 2 tablespoons homemade)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: A pinch of red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Wash and trim 1 pound of green beans by snapping off the ends. Dice 6-8 slices of thick-cut bacon into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced bacon and cook until crispy, stirring occasionally (about 6-8 minutes). Transfer the bacon to a plate lined with paper towels to drain, but keep the bacon grease in the pan.
  3. Add the trimmed green beans to the skillet with the bacon grease. Toss to coat evenly and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beans are crisp-tender with a slight char.
  4. Lower the heat to medium-low and add 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter and 2 minced garlic cloves. Stir well to combine and cook for another 2 minutes, until fragrant.
  5. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning mix (1 packet or 2 tablespoons homemade) over the beans. Stir thoroughly to coat every bean with the seasoning. Add salt and pepper to taste, and optionally, a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  6. Add the crispy bacon back to the skillet and toss to combine. Cook for another 2 minutes to warm the bacon through and let the flavors meld together.
  7. Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy while warm.

Notes

For best results, use fresh green beans and thick-cut bacon. Avoid overcrowding the skillet to ensure the beans sauté properly. Adjust ranch seasoning to taste.
