Ingredients

Scale
  • Mini phyllo cups – store-bought
  • 8 ounces (225 grams) Brie cheese, rind removed and cut into small cubes
  • 1 cup (100 grams) fresh cranberries
  • ½ cup (100 grams) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • ½ cup (120 ml) water
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • ¼ cup (30 grams) chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • Honey for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, water, orange zest, and cinnamon if using. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer.
  3. Simmer for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cranberries burst and mixture thickens to a chunky jam-like texture. Let cool to room temperature.
  4. Remove rind from brie and cut cheese into small cubes about ½ inch pieces.
  5. Place mini phyllo cups on a baking sheet. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of cranberry filling into each cup, then top with a brie cube.
  6. Sprinkle chopped nuts on top if using.
  7. Bake in preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until brie is melted and bubbly and phyllo is golden and crisp.
  8. Remove from oven and optionally drizzle with honey.
  9. Serve warm.

Notes

Pre-bake phyllo cups for 3-4 minutes before filling to prevent sogginess. Chill brie before cutting for easier slicing. Use fresh cranberries for best flavor; thaw and drain frozen if needed. Drizzle honey after baking for added sweetness. Can substitute vegan cheese for dairy-free option and gluten-free phyllo cups for gluten-free diet.
