A flavorful and shareable charcuterie bowl combining zesty ranch taco dressing, seasoned meat, fresh veggies, and crunchy tortilla chips, perfect for Super Bowl parties or casual get-togethers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey (lean is best for less grease)
  • 1 packet taco seasoning or 2 tbsp homemade blend (chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing (recommend Hidden Valley)
  • 1 tsp taco seasoning
  • 1 tbsp lime juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce (iceberg or romaine)
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 cup tortilla chips (multigrain or blue corn recommended)
  • 1/2 cup pickled jalapeños (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef or turkey and cook, breaking it up with a spatula, until no longer pink, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
  2. Sprinkle the taco seasoning over the meat and pour in 1/4 cup water. Stir to combine and simmer for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the meat evenly. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup ranch dressing, 1 tsp taco seasoning, 1 tbsp lime juice, and 1/2 tsp smoked paprika. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Chill until ready to serve.
  4. Rinse and chop lettuce, halve cherry tomatoes, slice olives and red onion, shred cheese, pluck cilantro leaves, and slice avocado just before serving to avoid browning.
  5. Choose a large shallow bowl or platter. Start by layering shredded lettuce as the base. Arrange the taco meat in a central mound or spread it in sections.
  6. Neatly arrange tomatoes, olives, onion, cheese, and avocado slices around the meat like a colorful mosaic.
  7. Scatter tortilla chips and pickled jalapeños over and around the bowl. Drizzle the ranch taco dressing generously over the top or serve it on the side for dipping.
  8. Finish with fresh cilantro leaves for a burst of green and freshness. Serve immediately so the chips stay crunchy and the avocado looks fresh.

Notes

Use medium heat to avoid drying out the meat. Prepare avocado slices just before serving or toss in lime juice to prevent browning. Serve chips on the side or around edges to keep them crisp. Dressing can be made up to 2 days ahead and refrigerated.
