A quick and easy Southern-inspired snack featuring crisp celery filled with creamy, tangy pimento cheese. Perfect for parties or a satisfying bite in just 5 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 68 celery stalks, washed and cut into 34 inch pieces
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 34 tablespoons jarred pimentos, drained and chopped
  • 2 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Hot sauce (optional, a few dashes)

Instructions

  1. Rinse celery stalks thoroughly under cold water, pat dry, trim ends, and cut into 3-4 inch pieces.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine shredded sharp cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, softened cream cheese, and chopped jarred pimentos. Stir with a fork until creamy but still textured.
  3. Add Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and optional hot sauce. Mix well to blend flavors.
  4. Fill the groove of each celery piece with the pimento cheese mixture using a spoon or small spatula, applying a generous but not overfilled layer.
  5. Serve immediately or cover and chill in the refrigerator for 15-30 minutes to let flavors meld and firm up the filling.

Notes

Soften cream cheese before mixing to avoid lumps. Drain pimentos well to prevent watery filling. Use fresh, crisp celery that snaps cleanly. For a smoother filling, pulse briefly in a food processor but hand mixing preserves texture. Assemble celery and filling separately if prepping ahead to keep celery crisp.
