These Red Velvet Oreo truffles combine the classic charm of red velvet cake with the iconic Oreo cookie crunch, rolled into bite-sized perfection. Quick and easy to make, they are perfect for any occasion and guaranteed to wow your guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 36 Red Velvet Oreos, crushed finely
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened (full-fat recommended)
  • 12 oz (340 g) white chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup (30 g) red velvet cake mix or red velvet cake crumbs (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Sprinkles or extra Oreo crumbs for decorating (optional)

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos: Place about 36 red velvet Oreos into a food processor and pulse until you get fine crumbs. If you don’t have a processor, put the cookies into a zip-top bag and crush them with a rolling pin until finely ground (about 3-5 minutes).
  2. Mix Cream Cheese and Oreo Crumbs: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese with the crushed Oreos. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and, if using, 1/4 cup (30 g) red velvet cake mix or crumbs. Use an electric mixer on medium speed for about 2-3 minutes until the mixture is smooth and evenly combined. The batter should be moist but firm enough to roll.
  3. Form the Truffles: Roll the mixture into 1-inch (2.5 cm) balls using your hands. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. You should get about 30-35 truffles depending on size. Pop the tray into the fridge for 30 minutes to firm up and make dipping easier.
  4. Melt the White Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt 12 oz (340 g) white chocolate chips in 30-second bursts, stirring each time to prevent scorching. Alternatively, melt the chocolate gently over a double boiler until smooth and glossy.
  5. Dip the Truffles: Using a toothpick or fork, dip each chilled truffle into the melted white chocolate, ensuring it’s fully coated. Shake off excess chocolate and place back on parchment paper. Before the coating sets, sprinkle with extra Oreo crumbs or sprinkles if desired. Let them chill in the fridge for another hour to harden.

Notes

If the chocolate thickens while dipping, warm it briefly to keep smooth. Chill truffles before dipping to maintain shape and ease coating. For a lighter version, use reduced-fat cream cheese but expect less creaminess. Dairy-free and gluten-free alternatives are possible with substitutions. Avoid overheating white chocolate to prevent burning; stir often and heat in short bursts.
