These sliders combine ham, Swiss cheese, and tangy pickles on buttery toasted slider buns for a quick, flavorful party bite that’s easy to make and loved by all ages.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 soft slider buns or Hawaiian rolls
  • 12 slices thinly sliced deli ham (smoked or honey ham preferred)
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced dill pickles
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat your non-stick skillet over medium heat or preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) if using oven toasting.
  2. Slice the slider buns horizontally, keeping the bottom and top halves connected if possible.
  3. In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard with 1 tablespoon yellow mustard.
  4. Spread a thin layer of the mustard mix on the bottom half of each bun.
  5. Layer each bun with one slice of ham (about 1 to 1.5 ounces), one slice of Swiss cheese, and 2-3 thin pickle slices. Cap with the top bun.
  6. Spread softened butter evenly on the outside of each slider (both top and bottom).
  7. Place sliders butter-side down on the preheated skillet. Press gently with a spatula or heavy pan and cook for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Flip sliders carefully, press again, and cook for another 3-4 minutes until cheese melts and bread is toasted.
  9. Remove from heat and let sliders rest for a minute before serving.

Notes

Use softened butter for even spreading. Press sliders gently but consistently while toasting. Cover skillet briefly after flipping to help cheese melt faster. Avoid overheating to prevent burning buns. Can substitute gluten-free buns and vegan cheese/butter for dietary needs.
