A fun and easy sliders bar recipe perfect for backyard parties and gatherings, featuring juicy beef patties, melty cheese, fresh veggies, and a variety of toppings for everyone to customize their own mini sandwiches.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef, preferably 80/20 for juiciness
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 12 mini slider buns or Hawaiian rolls
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • Sliced cheddar cheese
  • American cheese slices
  • Blue cheese crumbles
  • Leafy lettuce or baby spinach
  • Tomato slices
  • Thinly sliced red onions
  • Pickles (dill or bread-and-butter style)
  • Pickled jalapeños
  • Coleslaw (vinegar-based recommended)
  • Avocado slices or guacamole
  • Classic ketchup and mustard
  • Smoky barbecue sauce
  • Garlic aioli or mayo mixed with a dash of hot sauce
  • Optional garnishes: fresh herbs like chopped parsley or chives, crispy bacon bits

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Form 12 small patties about 2.5 inches in diameter and 1/2 inch thick, pressing a slight dimple in the center of each.
  3. Preheat grill or oven to medium heat. Brush insides of slider buns with melted butter and toast cut-side down on a baking sheet or grill tray until golden, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Heat grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties about 3 minutes per side for medium doneness, adding cheese slices during the last minute to melt.
  5. Arrange toppings and sauces in small bowls or on a platter for a sliders bar setup.
  6. Let guests assemble sliders starting with toasted bun, patty with melted cheese, and desired toppings and sauces.

Notes

Do not overwork the meat to keep patties tender. Press a dimple in patties to prevent puffing. Toast buns well to avoid sogginess. Keep cooked patties warm in a low oven if cooking in batches. Prepare coleslaw a day ahead for deeper flavor. Use gluten-free buns or lettuce wraps for gluten-free options. Vegetarian patties like grilled portobello or black bean can be substituted.
